Depot Arrival Prediction (VDV 461 DAP)
A VDV 461 service that transmits predicted depot arrival times and related context from ITCS to the depot management system (BMS).
Technical Details
DAP messages include vehicle identification, duty/line context, and an arrival prediction. A first prediction can be sent ahead of the scheduled pull-in time, with updates sent only when the prediction changes beyond a configured hysteresis. When prediction quality decreases, an “inaccurate” indicator can be transmitted to help the depot handle uncertainty.
Fleet Applications
Improves depot readiness: the BMS can anticipate which vehicles will arrive soon, stage chargers/parking bays, and time the delivery of driver instructions (e.g., where to park or connect).
Related Terms
Depot Charging
Charging infrastructure located at a central facility where fleet vehicles return to park and charge, typically overnight.
VDV 461 (SIRI/VDV461 BMS Interface)
