Bavaria opens second funding call for non-public e-truck charging infrastructure

9/1/2026
Bavaria 2026–2029 funding call for electric truck charging infrastructure

The Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs has announced €2.5 million for the second call under the Charging Infrastructure for Electric Vehicles in Bavaria 2026–2029 programme. The call supports new, non-public charging points for electric goods-transport vehicles.

The application window runs from 14 September 2026 at 10:00 to 16 October 2026 at 16:00. Eligible applicants are economically active companies with a branch or place of business in Bavaria that operate in goods transport. Bayern Innovativ GmbH manages the programme. The official call page contains the binding requirements.

Core figures

  • Funding rate: 40% of eligible costs; small and medium-sized enterprises receive an additional 10 percentage points.
  • Charger caps: up to €10,000 below 250 kW, €20,000 from 250 kW to below 600 kW, and €60,000 from 600 kW.
  • Grid connection caps: up to €10,000 for low voltage and €75,000 for low voltage with an eligible buffer battery or for medium/high voltage.
  • Maximum funding: €250,000 per application and €500,000 per applicant in this call.
  • An innovative additional criterion can add 10% of eligible costs, capped at €20,000, subject to the call requirements and approval.

What operators should review now

The call is not a first-come, first-served process. Applications are ranked by projected environmental relief per euro of funding, based on the fuel savings expected from newly purchased or registered electric goods vehicles. Operators should therefore review the planned vehicles, annual mileage, replaced diesel consumption, site and grid connection, charging concept, three-year operating period, and the defined user group. A premature project start, funding accumulation, or replacement of existing charging infrastructure can make a project ineligible.

This is a time-limited opportunity, not a funding promise for any individual project. Fenexity can support structured depot and charging planning, but does not replace funding advice or the awarding authority's decision. The Bavarian Ministry announcement and the Bayern Innovativ programme page provide additional programme context.
